Job Summary

•   Monitors the performances of all subordinates and ensures that maintenance works are being carried out in accordance with laid down procedures and best practices.
•   Maintains continuous communication with other supervisors to enable quick response to complaints on equipment/ machinery thus minimizing breakdowns periods.
•   Prepares notes on equipment/ mechanical faults and any other relevant information required for the next shift.
•   Supervises daily mechanical maintenance and modification works in the section.
•   Formulates plans and allocate required manpower for all maintenance related works and maintains smooth and continuous operation within the section.
•   Prepares estimates and quotes on repairs for work to be carried out in the workshop where applicable
•   Promotes and monitor maintenance works on site to ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental Standards
•   Supervises all maintenance Personnel in the Workshop including Auto Electricians, A/C Mechanics, Tyre Fitters, Welders/ Fabricators, etc.
•   Performs any other related duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must possess a Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with at least five (5) years working experience in a similar role.
•   In depth exposure to Mining Operations
•   Must be a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.
•   Must have working knowledge on CAT, Volvo and Sandvik diagnostics Programmes.
•   Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Acts & Regulations.
•   Must have the ability to lead, motivate and get the best performance out of subordinates
•   Must be a computer literate – MS Office Suite.
