Overview
As a part of ongoing conservation efforts along the coasts of Ghana, the US Forest Service International Programmes (USFS) is working with the Government of Ghana and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to design and implement a coastal landscape conservation project in the six coastal districts of the Western Region of Ghana. This Coastal Sustainable Landscapes Project (CSLP) will contribute to moving Ghana into a low greenhouse gas emissions, high carbon sequestration development pathway in the land use sector.

Natural    Resources    Governance   and   Policy Specialist
Work to influence policy in order to enhance natural resources governance, including tree tenure arrangements, which encourage communities and individuals to participate in and benefit from sustainable resources management. The aim of this policy reform is to create greater incentives for landowners, communities, the private sector, traditional authorities, and businesses to maintain, expand, and improve tree cover while providing direct benefits to livelihoods.

Work Conditions
Monday to Friday:     8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m (one hour break) These work hours are a guide The Administrative/Finance Specialist must be able to work under pressure, produce results, and meet deadlines.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Experience for an international organisation
•   Proven project management experience
•   Effective communication and inter-personal skills
•   Required computer proficiencies: Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Internet
•   Experience in monitoring and evaluation for development programs
•   Advanced degree in related fields
•   Extensive experience in report writing, auditing, and record-keeping
•   Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations
•   Excellent organisational skills
•   Familiarity with climate change, sustainable landscapes/livelihoods, land use planning, biodiversity conservation, international cooperation, and protected area management preferred
•   Speak, read, write Fanti, Twi
