Job Title: Plant Operator

Job Summary

• To improve plant quality, efficiency and safety, ensure that production process runs safely and smoothly and that the plant produces quality results.

Job Description

• To conduct start-up and shutdown process
• To conduct a daily routine of the plant. This provides guidance for preventive and repair maintenance to ensure that plant operations are able to meet output quotas and deadlines
• Perform calibration checks on dips, weighing scales and all other equipment for accuracy at the beginning of each work shift.
• Perform dipping and proper record keeping of stocks and raw materials
• Monitor all plant production and processing equipment
• Keep operating logs, monitor process parameters such as temperature and pressure and make adjustments to keep processes within specified limits
• To read screens, charts, meters and gauges and to keep an eye on operations
• To abide by safety rules and safe work practices in a cost-effective manner and ensure compliance to all policies and regulations of the plant and factory
• Ensure preparation of daily shift reports and communication of the reports to the plant supervisor and other designated individuals

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as Plant Operator or similar role
• Experience in production and processing
• Ability to read and comprehend operating instructions
• Familiarity with mechanical and industrial equipment such as valves, pumps, flow meters and machine tools in a place
• Knowledge in MS Office, MS Word etc
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Degree or HND in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering
