Job Vacancy For Policy and Grants Support Coordinator



We are currently seeking a Policy and Grants Support Coordinator to be based in Accra for Ghana Poultry Project (GPP).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Build relationships and work with stakeholders in the value chain such as government agencies, poultry associations and other relevant stakeholders of the poultry value chain to define organisational priorities and develop effective advocacy platforms
• Strengthen poultry associations and other value chain actors to provide critical advocacy, promotional and technical advisory services to members
• Organise the producer groups and emphasize institutional performance, where individual organisations and agencies will clearly assess their complimentary roles in creating an investment environment that encourages competitive sector growth
• In conjunction with the Grant Specialist, will work with the grantees to outline and monitor series of performance - based activities that will be paid according to set milestone or based on the performance reports (financially and technically).
• Assist in facilitating the development of an organisation's technical and managerial capacity to improve its profitability and increasingly receive operational and investment financing from the formal financial sector
• Assist in identifying and help mobilize short term technical assistance (STTA) (needs identification, SOW, requests) to requests) to address production and financial management/enterprise development needs, both sector-wide and for individual organisations and assists in the dissemination of results and recommendations to beneficiaries and partner groups
• Assist in the coordination of procurement of grants-related goods & services, work with project staff to ensure effective organisation and documentation of grants and monitor grantees during activities they implement during the grant implementation period
• Incorporates GPP gender mainstreaming and environmental management plans into daily operations
• coordinates program activities and promote ACDI/VOCA programs, facilitates successful coordination of activities, and ensures transparency

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in business, agriculture or social sciences
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a multi-cultural environment, providing services to the private sector
• Excellent critical thinking skills and judgment. Proven willingness to make timely and sound decisions. Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Advanced computer skills in a windows based environment including word, access, power point and excel
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions that require substantial interpretation of established policies and procedures, clear objectives and business/professional standards
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressures
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
