Job Vacancy For Procurement Officer



A Holdings company with a Real Estate and significant Equities Portfolio is seekint a dynamic, talented, value-based and innovative individual to fill the following position: Procurement Officer

Specific Responsibilities

• Analyse purchase requests and determine the appropriate method of procurement i.e Quotation, Tender or request for proposal provide assistance, when required, in the preparation of specifications etc
• coordinate the preparation of the procurement documents, utilising sound sustainable procurement practices and procedures, while adhering to all government legislation
• Use sound judgement, diplomacy and confidentiality with respect to the complete procurement process to ensure integrity
• Involvement in preparation of contracts and tender awards that may be confidential or sensitive information related to property or personnel or legal implications
• Confer with suppliers regarding delivery, quality, etc to ensure that the requirements are met
• Arrange for samples, testing and evaluation of new products

Qualifications Required & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Procurement & Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or a related field (Master's Degree in the above fields will be an added advantage)
• Minimum of 3 years related experience, especially in Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics. Experience with computerised purchasing systems would be an asset
• Professional certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be an advantage

Remuneration: The remuneration is very attractive and subject to negotiations
