IITA Ghana is seeking research staff to work on the Africa Research in sustainable intensification for the next generation (Africa RISING) project in the 3 northern regions:- Research Technician - Crop Production

Responsibilities

•   Work with farmers, research, extension and development partners
•   Establish and monitor on-farm cereal, legume and vegetable trials
•   Apply experimental treatments with minimum supervision
•   Collect and enter data into computer
•   Assist with data analysis and writing reports
•   Assist with dissemination of good crop management practices
•   Assist with organising workshops, meetings and monitoring tours
•   Establish and maintain contacts with farmers and relevant stake holders
•   Perform any other official duties assigned by supervisor

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc or Diploma in Crop Production, Agronomy or Crop Science
•   High National Diploma in Crop Production, Agronomy or Crop Science
•   National Diploma in Crop Production, Agronomy or Crop Science

Required Skills and Experience

•   A minimum of 2 to 3 years of post qualification research experience
•   Demonstrated skills in data collection and analysis
•   Good computer skills
•   Good writing and verbal communication skills in English
•   Knowledge of at least one native language

Location: Navorongo or Bolgatanga - Upper East Region and Wa, Upper West Region
