Job Summary

Implement retail buying in line with retail merchandise plans, marketing activity calendar and brand vision. Ensure right volumes per sku, per store type, per store, to increase sku performance shop floor, resulting in retail avenue and margins growth. Collect and interpret market/product information and translate this into usable qualitative information needed to manage the assortment and steer assortment development. Participate in product development processes to provide channel input into future assortment needs (SIP)

Key Accountabilities

Retail Buying

•   Execute retail buying, within merchandise plans for all the companies offline and online stores
•   Executive retail buying
•   optimize retail revenues and margins by executing excellent retail buying
•   Assess sku's developed with their volume potential
•   Decide on volumes per sku, per store
•   Coordinate buying activities resulting in weekly delivery capsules per store
•   Coordinate buying activities within the various lead time
•   Understand and adopt the analysis of the retail performance data provided by the merchandise planner control manager, and adopt corrective measures in the retail buying cycle

Merchandise Strategy and Panning

•   Give retail need input to Product Development cells with respect to the development of the overall merchandise strategy
•   Developing medium/short term retail line plan needs as input for the seasonal product development brief
•   Ensure concept-to-market alignment when giving input to the product development cells. Ensuring alignment of both retail shop drop moments and wholesale launch moments, while considering pan African logistic lead times
•   Propose improvements in processes and work with new planning tools
•   Explore boundaries to retail, wholesale and product pears on assumptions regarding price architecture, margin targets, category split, line architecture, capsule rhythm and all assortment variables to strive for more sales, margin and product development
•   Manage initiatives on new product categories and product line in a controlled decision process, testing, assessment, (re-testing) before launching
•   After successful testing, introduce new product-line / group / category as a fixed element in the medium term assortment plan and manage the scaling
•   Identify new product possibilities and new product translations

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor’s degree in textile or fashion designing
•   General Supply Chain knowledge
•   5-10 years international work experience within Merchandising, Fashion and Design
•   African expertise
•   English & French language
