Job Description

The Risk Analyst in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and Risk Manager will identify and analyze areas of potential operational and financial risks threatening assets, human and financial resources, the organizational effectiveness including its ability to deliver on its strategic mandate, meet government, donor and partners’ obligations and standards.

The Package

•   The position is based in Accra with frequent domestic travel and some level of international travel.
•   The position comes with an attractive salary package.
•   S/He reports to the Risk and Compliance Manager

Key Responsibilities
Include but not limited to the following;

•   Ensure that Audit recommendations are being implemented within the agreed time line and report on progress.
•   Review and provide feedback on the adequacy of World Vision Ghana enterprise risk management, governance and internal controls.
•   Undertake special assignments,  including investigating fraud and other risks and non-compliance issues as requested by National Director or line manager
•   Proactively advice and support Management on the formulation of risk management strategies and policies on all areas of the organization.
•   Facilitate the establishment and track use of systems, tools and procedures that protect World Vision’s asset, resources and public image.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Bachelor of Commerce with at least 4 years post qualification experience in auditing/accounting.
•   4 - 5 years of audit management experience in a recognized organization or public accounting firm preferably within the humanitarian sector.

Critical Competencies

•   Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
•   Proven knowledge of statistics and other program analytical tools
•   Problem solving and project management skills
•   Ability to identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiencies in existing systems
•   Ability to understand and interpret international Audit Standards (US Government Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing etc.)
•   Must have the ability to build the capacity of managers and departments’ heads on risk based audit, responding to audit queries, identifying and managing operational and financial risks.
•   Must have the ability to conduct statistical analysis to evaluate risks and recommend appropriate actions to manage such risks.
