Job Vacancy For Solicitor Secretary At National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA)



Job Purpose:
To provide advice on legal issues, facilitate business strategy development and ensure legal compliance while limiting risk exposure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•   Provide strategic legal advice and interpretation of legislation affecting conduct of the Authority's business.
•   Set internal governance policies and manage the impact of external factors.
•   Lead the legal team to represent the Authority in all legal matters as and when the need arises.
•   Liaise with Heads of Division to ensure that all regulatory and compliance requirements are properly adhered to.
•   Provide strategic leadership to and develop staff of the Legal Division.
•   Ensure effective performance management of staff of the Legal Division.
•   Mitigate legal risks associated with contracts and documentation across all parts and aspects of the Authority's operations.
•   Work with the executive team on business strategic planning, budgeting and financial management.
•   Organise departmental operation to ensure the protection of all confidential legal information.
•   Provide Company Secretarial Services to the Board.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A master's degree in Law or any related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
•   Must have been called to the Ghana Bar, and be a member of the Ghana Bar Association in good standing.
•   A minimum of ten (10) years' post-call, working experience, five (5) years of which should have been in a top management position in a financial organisation.

•   Excellent knowledge of Risk Management and Legal Compliance.
•   Excellent drafting skills.
•   Ability to pay attention to details.
•   Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools.
•   Ability to influence stake holders at all levels.
•   Excellent advocacy and written communication skills.
