Job Summary

The Stores Manager takes ultimate responsibility and accountability for all daily operations of the stores and ensures access to necessary supplies in accordance with agreed budget.

Reporting Relationship:
The successful candidate shall report to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate shall:

•   Ensure availability of stock items while maintaining optimum stock holding, thereby ensuring cost effectiveness of the stores.
•   Ensure stock management policies and procedures are adhered to and complaints investigated on regular basis with feedback to Management.
•   Build and maintain effective internal and external controls and provide high level of customer service.
•   Oversee the maintenance of a perpetual inventory system.
•   Ensure timely delivery of items.
•   Coordinate inventory schedule and preparation of inventory sheets and monitor maintenance of inventory records.
•   Ensure timely identification and disposal of obsolete items.
•   Maintain computerized records of reviewing records of transactions, stock levels and related records.
•   Submit periodic reports to Management.
•   Perform any other related tasks as directed by Management.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of a Master's degree in Procurement and Materials Management or related area from a reputable University.
•   Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (OPS) certificate will be an advantage.
•   A minimum of five (5) years post professional or functional leadership experience in procurement or stores.

•   Must have knowledge in Public Procurement Act 663.
