Job Vacancy For Telecommunications Technician At United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER)



The United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) is seeking qualified candidates for local recruitment to provide support to operations in Ghana.

UNMEER invites interested and qualified candidates of Ghanaian nationality or with a valid Ghanaian work permit and who meet the requirements to submit their applications to UNMEER Office in Accra

For all position listed below, the minimum education requirement is a high school certificate. Additional post-high school training in the required field is desirable.

The position available is: Telecommunications Technician

Responsibilities include:

•   The planning, installation and maintenance of a structured cabling, configuring, installing and maintaining HF/VHF/UHF end user radios, installing/maintaining LAN and WAN equipment, installing/maintaining voice and data transport systems, installing/maintaining UNMEER's telephone systems, including fixed and mobile telephone sets.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of five(5) years of hands-on telecommunications experience
•   Skills: Fluency in oral and written English. Knowledge of French will be an advantage
•   Familiarity with the commercial telecommunications services, knowledge of UN voice and data communications systems is an asset. A valid national driving license for light vehicles is required
