Asanko Gold Ghana Limited Ghana Ltd. (“A G G L”) is a fully - owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a com pany  which has built the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s  newest gold mine.  The visi on of Asanko is to become a mid - tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

AGGL is seeking to employ a suitable  qualified person to fill the role below. This  is a permanent position with  a  competitive  work  roster. Remuneration  package  includes  attractive  salary  and  performance based  incentive payments.

Position: Unit Manager  - Mineral Resources

Key Responsibilities:

•   Contribute  to  the  achievement  of  high  standards  of  performance  by  the  Company  in  the  management of safety, health and the environment, particularly within the  position’s discipline.
•   Create/build  geological  and  mineral  resource  models  by  employing  computer  based  resource  evaluation techniques for geological, drilling and all mine planning;
•   Ensure  geological model is continuously updated, through the integration of all mine and exploration  geological data;
•   Oversee and sign off the geological and grade control models that are supplied to Mine Planning;
•   Administer, train and ensures that all corporat e governances in regard to budgeting, administration, human resources, standards, SHE within the discipline  are in place and maintained at all levels;
•   Ensure  internal  and  external  audits  are  carried  out  on  all  geological  activities  and  that  the  recommendat ions of the audit are acted upon;
•   Reconcile the Mine Geology unit’s budgets and prepare monthly and quarterly reports including the  unit’s SHE reports  as per company’s reporting standards;
•   Oversee the management of all mine related evaluation QAQC data and interpretation;
•   Manage annual independent audits of the Mineral Resource models and estimates;
•   Manage  and  undertake  the  annual  Mineral  Resource  disclosure,  including  coordination  of  the  p reparation  of  the  competent  persons  report  for  the  Business  Unit  and  signs  off  the  Mineral  Resources portion of the report;
•   Prepare, with assistance from the Unit Manager Grade Control, the Business Unit Plan for the Mine  Geology Unit to fit into the overa ll framework of agreed corporate objectives;
•   Provide updated geological models for cross section plotting and interpretation, and revised mineral  resource and mineral reserve estimations
•   Monitor technical and operational developments, including computing applications and standards in all geological activities, both locally, nationally and internationally, to ensure that Asanko Gold is at the forefront of knowledge and is able to take full advantage of appropriate improvements;
•   Conduct performance evaluation and appraisal for staff in the discipline where appropriate;

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
•   Member of Ghana Institute of Geoscientist;
•   A minimum of 8 years experience in similar role in the mining industry preferably in large open pits operations;
•   Must be conversant with the Mining Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana, and be
able to interpret and apply these laws and regulations;
•   Familiar with modern geological and mineral resource technologies and practices;
•   Excellent computer skills in geological and mining software;
•   Leadership experience and a strong desire to coach and develop others;
•   Well-developed oral and written communication skills;

•   Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people of diverse cultures;

•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain;
•   Ability to work under pressure.
