The Governing Council of the Catholic University College of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University College which becomes vacant from 1st July, 2015.

Job Description & Duties:

•   The Vice Chancellor shall be the Chief Executive Officer and for that matter administrative and academic head of the University College, and shall be accountable to the Governing Council.
•   The Vice-chancellor shall be the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University.
•   The Vice-Chancellor shall also be responsible for:
•   Providing strategic direction, growth and development of the University College; and protecting the integrity of the University College's processes.
•   Chief fundraiser for the development of the University College.
•   Maintaining good order and the security of the university as a place of higher learning.

Tenure: A term of three years in the first instance but may be renewed for another term.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must:

•   Hold a PhD degree.
•   Be full Professor in his/her chosen field with vast experience in academia or analogous institution.
•   Have extensive experience in administrative, financial and academic leadership in higher educational Institution.
•   Have a considerable knowledge and appreciation of emerging trends in higher education in Africa.
•   He/She must be a distinguished and internationally acclaimed academician who have previously held a position as Vice-chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor or a Dean in higher educational Institution.
•   Have excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills and must be a team player.
•   Be innovative, dynamic, proactive, and flexible with the skills and capacity to advise on the strategic direction of the University College and initiate strategies to implement these strategic goals.
•   Have a high sense of integrity and maturity, and must be able to inspire and motivate staff to achieve higher productivity.
•   Show demonstrable evidence of distinguished scholarship with research and publications in journals of international repute.
•   Have ability to fundraise substantial funds with the capacity to efficiently manage and optimise the human, financial and material resources of the University College.
