A fast growing universal bank invites applications from experienced banking professionals to fill the position of Deputy Managing Director. Candidates are required to possess the ability to provide brilliant, exemplary and  dynamic leadership to the Business Promotion and Development team, review and oversee the implementation of overall business development strategies of the Bank.

Job Summary

•   Review the business development strategy of the bank and lead the process of their implementation
•   Provide strategic direction to the product development team and ensure the development of varied products for the various segments of targets clientele
•   Formulate customer retention strategies aimed at minimizing customer attrition
•   Develop and implement systems to determine customer satisfaction levels with respect to service delivery
•   Liaise with relevant departments to develop an effective performance measurement and target based systems
•   Formulate strategies to attract qualified, motivated and high performing teams
•   Conduct market reseach to identify new and distinctive business opportunities
•   Develop overall strategic marketing plan in line with the Bank’s medium to long term strategic plan
•   Perform quarterly portfolio analysis to ascertain the quality of the bank’s portfolio and provide needed risk mitigating measures
•   Identify business segment perferences and develop an effective programme to attract new business
•   Lead the processes of the review and development of policies and processes with the bank

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Management, Finance or related fields with a minimum of 15 years managerial experience. A relevant postgraduate Degree and/or  professional qualification in Banking, Accounting or Finance will be an added advantage
•   Must be a Ghanaian and have experience in a similar or same role
•   Excellent command over the English Language. Working knowledge of French or Arabic will be an advantage
•   Ability to communicate in a multicultural environment
•   Strong understanding of financial management issues and corporate governance in the banking industry
•   Ability to prepare competitive business plans  and/or programme budgets
•   Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•   Ability to undertake market research and financial analysis results oriented

Other Requirements
Appriable knowledge in I.T and I.T related products in a Bank is a must

•   Ability to work under pressure
•   Exhibit high sense of Professionalism and attention to detail

Establishing and maintaining fruitful professional relationships with clients, business partners, competitors etc, with a view of promoting the image and business of the company, advancing the vision and ideals of the company and also ensuring the adoption and adaptation of best practices
•   Representing the company both internally and externally at all levels of business engagement – at the approval of the COO – especially in issues relating to Business Development and promotion.
•   Ensuring the timely submission of reports to the appropriate receiving authorities
•   Developing Loan and other innovative service products in consultation with COO, Credit team and other professional advisors.
•   Assisting in the review of all loan requests to ensure their viability and consistency with corporate policies which are designed to reduce the risks facing the company
•   Planning, coordinating and reviewing the activities of the Credit Team; including initial interview procedures, information verification procedures, loan application documentation, financial appraisal techniques, preparation of verification reports, loan monitoring, recovery procedures etc.
•   Reviewing systems and procedures currently being applied in  the delivery of credit to ensure they are consistent with the company’s policies and are appropriate to ensure effective  credit delivery.
•   Designing and establishing a system of operational procedures, reporting systems and Internal Control procedures that will ensure the complete recording, analysis, reporting and presentation of all Credit activities undertaken by the company
•   Monitoring the repayment of loans by clients, and liaising with the Finance Department to ensure that the accounting system is updated with any repayments received and also of cheques dishonored.
•   Designing and establishing a system of operational procedures, reporting systems and internal control procedures that will ensure the complete recording, analysis, reporting and presentation of all Savings & Deposits activities undertaken by the company
•   Monitoring the inflow of savings and deposits from clients and in conjunction with Finance Department ensure that the accounting system is continuously updated with any deposits received

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A very good degree in Business  Administration, (Accounting or Finance option), and
•   a member of a Recognized Professional Accounting Body. A masters degree will be an advantage Must have good credit management skills
•   At least six (6) years relevant work experience in a financial or banking institution; three of which must be  at management level.
•   Must have drive and passion to achieve.
•   Must be innovative and demonstrate high level initiative and integrity.
•   Must have good leadership skills
