Purpose of the role:

Is to oversee and provide leadership in the delivery of reliable quality and timely credit services to clients in a secure and controlled environment whilst ensuring maximum outreach, sustainability and compliance with bank and regulatory policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Develops and implements a business plan, goals and budget for credit operations functions and activities that considers the overall corporate objectives, business plan and operational priorities.
• Establishing and setting quality service credit operations standards to respond to internal and external clients inquiries, requests and issues related to loan administration and other commercial operations matters
• Evaluates, monitors, and controls operations performance against agreed performance standards and taking corrective action against significant deviations.
• Formulating a strategic operations plan to achieve assigned volume and revenue targets through expansion of the Bank’s lending products.
• Co-ordinates, sets and delegates to direct reports annual performance targets covering sustainability, profitability, service quality and efficiency.
• In liaison with the Finance Department, sets an annual overall revenue and overhead budget and targets
• Guiding and coaching managers in the department to deliver the strategic plan each year
• Oversees the documentation and application of sound and up to date lending and collection and risk management principles and ensures compliance with local banking and finance legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Managing the dayt-to-day credit operations functions and activities and resolving any arising conflicts
• Establishes and sets quality service credit operations standards to respond to internal and external clients’ inquiries, requests, and issues related to loan administration and other commercial operations matters.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Master’s degree in any of the numerate business related subjects from a reputable University.
• 5-8 years relevant working experience.
• A minimum 2-4 years of which should have been in a senior management position.
• Practical advanced management experience in managing and supporting credit operations.
• Practical advanced experience in setting and implementation of credit and risk management policies, practices, procedures and guidelines.
• Knowledge and experience in lending, credit and risk management including pre-loan eligibility requirements, client screening, collateral, product design, loan approval processes, repayment terms and incentives, delinquency and default management.
• Advanced knowledge of related statutory banking compliance regulations, banking laws, business law, local employment and labour laws, internal operational policies and procedures, and transformation, lending and banking products and services.
