Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates capable of undertaking an intensive two and half years formal training programme in Overhead Lines, Cable Jointing, Substation Maintenance and General Electrical Technology at the ECG Training Centre, Tema.

Upon completion of the course, successful trainees will become eligible for appointment as Artisans for posting to ECG operations areas.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must:

1) Not be more than Thirty (23) years old by the end of December, 2016 ( A copy of applicant’s birth certificate must be attached to the application)

2) Possess either:

•   The National Board for Professional and Technical Examinations (NABPTEX) / Ghana Education Service Technical Examinations Unit’s certificate in Electrical Installation work or
•   The Electrical Installation work-advance craft (course “C”) certificates or
•   The Electrical Engineering Technician’s Part II certificate
•   In addition to the above, show evidence of having successfully completed either the Electrical Installation Work Intermediate Craft (Course “B”) or the Electrical Engineering Technician Part I course
•   Possess the Basic Educational Certificate Examination (BECE) certificate
•   Pass an ECG in-house Entrance Examination and a selection Interview
•   Possession of Drivers’ License is an added advantage

Role Summary:

The candidate will receive in-depth training to perform NOT inspection activities per Intertek standards and client requirements. This will include:

•   Conducting ultrasonic tests on fabricated welded products, to be able to identify defects
•   Performing the various ultrasonic testing and basic weld scanning for different types of weld configurations and plate scanning
•   Interpret and evaluate the discontlnuites with regards to defect category and decide on the acceptance and rejection of the defect found.
•   Able to perform the magnetic particle testing
•   Document, review work orders, test procedures and product specification criteria that is acceptable and sets test specification

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant technical qualification
•   ASNT Level 1 or Level 2
•   Demonstrable knowledge on NOT Methods, procedures and techniques
•   1-2 years relevant experience in the Oil, Gas and Energy sector
•   Good report writing skills, confident oral communicator and ability to relate with people at all levels

Job Description

•   Be in charge for the distribution and utilization of all vehicle and equipment fleet in the company.
•   Be responsible for the allocation and rotation of works and assignments to all drivers and operators.
•   Be required to carry out the tasks of attending and heading meetings with assistance from the Chief Driver and Chief Operator, on the best ways of operation.
•   Be in charge of coordination training courses and related issues to transportation for drivers and operators.
•   Be required to evaluate all drivers and operators performance on a quarterly, half yearly and yearly basis to identify individuals who need training. Also conduct quarterly reviews in the year.
•   Be responsible for the renewal of Roadworthy Certificates and Insurance Premiums for all vehicles and equipment in the company.
•   Supervise staff, allocate work and determine priorities as necessary.
•   Maintain books and records of vehicle and equipment movement.
•   See to the general safety of all vehicles and equipment on the premises of the company.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
•   Three (3) years working experience as a Transport Officer.
