Job Summary

The GIMPA Executive Conference Centre Manager will be responsible for managing staff, planning, marketing, coordinating and administering the services of the Centre.

Reporting Relationship:
The successful candidate shall report to the Registrar.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate shall:

•   Implement appropriate marketing strategies to ensure maximum patronage of the services of the Centre.
•   Set and achieve sales and profit targets.
•   Manage budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure.
•   Be responsible for quality assurance of services at the Centre.
•   Plan work schedules.
•   Deal with customer complaints and comments.
•   Address problems and troubleshoot.
•   Inspect properties and services to ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations and standards.
•   Ensure effective security at the Centre.
•   Responsible for personnel training and general discipline of the Centre,
•   Submit periodic progress reports of the Centre to Management.
•   Perform other related duties that may be assigned by management.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management or any relevant Hotel Management qualification from a reputable Institution.
•   A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a three-star hotel.

Responsible for:

•   Prepare and distribute running sheets for functions, checking of client invoices and function reports
•   Handle function complaints in a way to satisfy clients, ensure customer retention, and maximise returns to the company
•   Ensure the safety and security of staff, customers and equipment during functions
•   Maintain ingredients and beverage supply – stock and security
•   Development and review of systems manuals
•   Organise bi-weekly Food and Beverages meeting with all staff in the department
•   Submit monthly Food and Beverages report

Reporting to:  General Manager

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A degree, HND or Diploma in a relevant field
•   Experience in a supervisory or similar role in at least a 3 Star hotel
•   Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach to business
•   Must be results-oriented and versatile
