Job Summary

Qualification Required & Experience

•   1st Degree in Communication Studies / Journalism or related field with 6 years working experience on newspaper/online journalism

•   Diploma in Journalism from a reputable institution with 8 years working experience on newspaper / online journalism
•   Member of Ghana Journalists Association

Summary of Responsibilities

•   S/he will act as the communications lead for Ghana Innovating, maintaining up to date knowledge and communication resources for the project. In particular, the post will be tasked with delivery of the communications strategy for the project to promote family reading with young children at the household and community level.
•   The candidate will work very closely with GES and project staff and have overall responsibility for managing the production and distribution of the project’s communications materials, at other regional and national level.
•   She or he will also maintain the project’s website, and work with staff on communications capacity building.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related disciplines,
•   Five (5) years of relevant experience preferred, and have proven writing and communications skills
•   The position requires a keen instinct to know what is news-worthy and makes for strong copy.

•   Ensure provision, as a public service, of independent and impartial broadcasting services (sound and television) for general reception in Ghana.
•   Engage, in accordance with Board policy, in commercial broadcasting through the sale of period advertisements scheduled at prescribed segments in its programmes service.
•   Ensure compliance with output requirements under the law in the public service broadcasting of the Corporation.
•   Develop and maintain a philosophy of management and corporate culture that fosters co-operation.
•   Any other relevant duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Board.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Master’s Degree in Sciences’ or Arts, preferably, Mass Communications, Journalism, Business/Public Administration, Engineering, Economics, Management or its equivalent professional qualification from a recognized institution, with not less than fifteen (15) years’ post qualification relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable institution.
•   The successful candidate should be able to serve a term of four years before he/she attains the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
