Job Summary

Job Description

• Provide general legal and advisory services on various work-related issues
• Represent the organisation in court and before other adjudicating bodies
• Undertake legal research and analysis, prepare legal options, reports and correspondence
• Monitor the resolution of disputes and/or litigation referred to External solicitors
• Draft facility and security agreements while ensuring adequate protection of the organisation’s interest therein
• Guide the credit department for effective execution of mortgages and undertaking securities
• Ensure representation of the company at all court hearings and report same to management
• Ensure compliance with industry legislation and keep abreast of legislative changes that may effect the organisation
• Draft/Review various contracts/agreements involving the organisation
• Prepare periodic reports on the status of work within the legal department to the General Manager and the Board
• Perform all other duties assigned by the General Manager and the Board

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised university
• Have been called to the Ghana Bar
• Member of the Ghana Bar Association ad in good standing
• A minimum of 4 years post-call legal experience gained within a reputable Law firm or financial institution

Preferred Skills

• Be a team player and possess good communication, negotiation and analytical skills, including writing with strong attention to detail
