Qualification Required & Experience

•  Should have a Ghanaian Blastman Certificate of Competency issued by the Mines Inspectorate
•  Should have not less than three (3) years working experience in underground development and must be capable of marking development face and doing charge up without supervision
•  Should have comprehensive knowledge of the Ghanaian Mine Regulations
•  Should have knowledge in the use of charge up kettle and at least two underground mobile equipment
•  Should be capable of reading, speaking and underground the English Language
•  Should have adequate knowledge in understand ventilation circuits, firing procedures including electric firing and re-entry procedures
•  Should be conversant with industrial safety, health and environmental requirements
•  Should be self-motivated and meet deadlines

Job Summary:

Purpose of Role:
To provide technical support to the Mine Operations team and oversight for the underground mining activities.  To follow, and ensure all Company and Contractor compliance to established policies, practices and procedures when completing work assignments. To ensure continued growth of the Mine Operations team and to maximize operational safety, efficiencies and profitability.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties:
1. To assess and assist in the improvement of systems, programs or processes in mine operations

•  Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers and the support services underground
•  Establish methods to meet work schedules and confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments and contractors to resolve matters affecting mine operations
•  Comply, and ensure compliance, with established methodologies and quality standards related to mine operations while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches
•  Oversee the safety of the underground mining operations to ensure compliance with, and training of Company, Regulatory and Contractor safety rules, policies, regulations and standard operating procedures
•  Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
•  Requisition materials and ensure availability of mining supplies
•  Provide recommendations on personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
•  Mentor or train less experienced employees on operating standards, procedures and methods
•  Assist in development of short range mine plans to ensure they are realistic and achievable
•  Prepare production and other reports as required
•  Assist with special projects related to mine operations
•  Provide assessment of safety and performance outcomes in coordination with the Shift Bosses and Mine Manager
•  Other related duties as required

2. To provide technical support related to mine operations:

•  Address queries and assists Mine Manager in resolving issues for the contractor, while ensuring service standards are met
•  Ensures Company and Contractor compliance with company policy and procedures and regulations in mine operations
•  Provides training, workplace inspection and safety awareness to contractors and CGML Operations staff as needed
•  Acts as Field Engineer at mine site, providing quality assessment and quality control of the work performed by the Contractors

Sustainability Expectations:

•  Adhere to all safety and environmental considerations. Wear PPE at all times while in production environment. Is alert and observe, correct and report unsafe conditions.
•  Follow operating procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements

Qualification Required & Experience

•  BSc. Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution
•  Statutory certification as a Mine Captain
•  Minimum 5 years of related work experience
•  Complete knowledge of the underground mining environment
•  Knowledge of various underground, narrow vein mining methods
•  Solid safety performance at the personal and professional levels

Additional Qualification & Skills Requirement:

•  Ability to learn quickly
•  Ability to function within the required physical demands of the job as outlined

•  Manage Completion of Work Orders in the CMMS, including

d) Review closing comments and improvement suggestions on completed work orders and ensure they are actioned appropriately to improve future planning.
e) Produce KPIs for each period, review performance and take action to improve.

Vacancy exist for suitability qualified persons to be appointed to the role of Senior Environmental Officer – Water Management.

Purpose:
To assist the Environmental Superintendent – Rehabilitation & Closure to conduct Acid Rock Drainage test before encapsulation in line with the closure management plan, ensuring seeds selected for the rehabilitation are not evasive and implementing erosion with the Closure plan criteria at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Liaise with Mining department in land preparation and earthworks as per the requirements in the Reclamation Security Agreement with EPA
•  Conduct Net Acid Generation (NAG) testing before encapsulation of waste rock dumps
•  Collect seeds and seedlings from established seed orchards
•  Undertake provenance testing of seeds and ensure that species selected are not invasive
•  Undertake soil sampling and analysis to establish nutritional status and heavy metal accumulation before commencement of rehabilitation
•  Undertake seedling production at the plant nursery to meet the rehabilitation targets
•  Undertake growth and survival monitoring at rehabilitated sites
•  Provide inputs and supervision for personal engaged in rehabilitation works
•  Implement soil erosion prevention and mitigation techniques at rehabilitated sites
•  Submit month-end reports of rehabilitation activities

Qualification Required & Experience

•  University Degree in Natural Resources, Agriculture or Civil/Geological Engineering
•  At least 2 years environmental working experience in an extractive or construction industry
•  Knowledge of Ghanaian Environmental Regulations and Mining & Mineral Laws and regulations

•  Conduct Net Acid Generation (NAG) testing before encapsulation of waste rock dumps
•  Collect seeds and seedlings from established seed orchards
•  Undertake provenance testing of seeds and ensure that species selected are not invasive
•  Undertake soil sampling and analysis to establish nutritional status and heavy metal accumulation before commencement of rehabilitation
•  Undertake seedling production at the plant nursery to meet the rehabilitation targets
•  Undertake growth and survival monitoring at rehabilitated sites
•  Provide inputs and supervision for personal engaged in rehabilitation works
•  Implement soil erosion prevention and mitigation techniques at rehabilitated sites
•  Submit month-end reports of rehabilitation activities

Qualification Required & Experience

•  University Degree in Natural Resources, Agriculture or Civil/Geological Engineering
•  At least 2 years environmental working experience in an extractive or construction industry
•  Knowledge of Ghanaian Environmental Regulations and Mining & Mineral Laws and regulations
•  Knowledge in Acid Rock Drainage formation
•  Thorough understanding of Environmental Management Systems and Reclamation Bond
•  Experienced working with ISO14001 or similar Environmental Management Systems
•  Strong presentation, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

Job Summary

Vacancy exist for suitability qualified persons to be appointed to the role of Senior Environmental Officer – Water Management.

Purpose:
To co-ordinate drilling and permit on all drilling programmes associated with water, sampling of both surface and groundwater and monitoring of water quality in line with Ghana Water Company and EPA standards at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Undertake assessment of surface and groundwater quality and quantity at the operational area and neighbours communities on monthly basis
•  Ensure that drilling companies com;y with Water Resource Commission (WRC) Drilling Licence and Groundwater Development Regulation LI 1827 for safe development of ground water resources
•  Supervise drilling of boreholes for monitoring and drinking water purposes
•  Develop prediction models for surface and groundwater resources. Undertake monitoring of ground water plumes with the aim of an appropriate model which allow for tracking of solute transport over time
•  Develop and update the existing water balance model to include inflows, inventory storage and outflows. The model should be appropriate to the nature and scale of the mine operations and must allow for effective water management decisions
•  Develop and update the existing Environmental Monitoring Plan on water
•  Submit month and end report on water resource use against regulatory and AGA requirements
•  Undertake environmental impact assessment on water to ensure that adverse impact on local and regional water resources is avoided. Identify local and regional water quality risks and set objectives to manage potential risks
•  Periodic review of the mine water monitoring programme for its continuous suitability and appropriateness

Qualification Required & Experience

•  University Degree in Sciences or Engineering related fields
•  At least 3 years environmental working experience in an extractive or construction industry
•  Knowledge of Ghanaian Environmental Regulations and Water Resource Commission drilling license and regulations as they apply to mining
•  Knowledge in drilling, pit dewatering and water sampling and monitoring of drinking water
•  Thorough understanding of Environmental Management Systems and Ghana Water Company standards
•  Experienced working with ISO14001 or similar Environmental Management Systems
•  Strong presentation, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

•  Ensure that reagents consumptions are within budget.
•  Attend a daily morning production and maintenance meeting to discuss activities for the day.
•  Instigate suggested improvements in operational practices.
•  Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all operational areas.
•  Shift inspections of the tailings dam, raw water and process water dams.
•  Ensure all operational personnel are competent in their area before allowing them to work alone and accountable.
•  Co-ordinate shift maintenance ensuring minimal effect to production.
•  Co-ordinate, check and set all subordinates workloads and time tables daily.

Qualification Required & Experience

A minimum of four (4) years working experience in the Mining Industry and worked similar position for at least (2) years in gold operations.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications and Skills:
As the successful candidate, it is essential you possess the following skills and experience:

•  Master’s, Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Loss Prevention is highly preferable.
•  Minimum of 8 years of experience working in the health and safety field in an extractive industry or minimum of 10 years health and safety experience is required with 2 years management experience if you have no Degree. However continuing HSE educational programs is essential.
•  Thorough understanding of Safety Management Systems including OHSAS 18001.
•  Sound knowledge of risk management and loss prevention processes.
•  Must have accident/incident investigation experience
•  Auditing qualifications desirable.
•  Must have excellent report writing skills coupled with strong presentation, organizational and communication skills.
