Job Description

•   Providing support to all AMS employees. visitors and sub-contractors with regards to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) in the workplace.
•   Providing specialist advice on HSE to ensure compliance with legislative/client requirements.
•   Providing Support, Training and mentoring for site personnel, including HSE subordinates and HSE representatives.
•   Conducting, facilitating and participating in AMS and client investigations

•   Conducting follow up on HSE related initiatives, actions, reports and investigations to confirm closure within the allocated time frames.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Tertiary education qualification (Min Diploma) in a HSE or related discipline or recognised HSE qualification such as SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, MINSCOM Certification.
•   Minimum of 3 years of working experience in safety role.
•   Must possess a valid Driving licence for a light vehicle as well as ability to obtain a valid international licence.
•   Must have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
•   Able to communicate in both English and French languages, read and write English a must, ability to read and write French is preferred
•   Knowledge of and ability to implement the requirements of OSHAS 18001 and ISO 14001
•   Excellent training and communication skills
•   Good computer skills

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Shift Boss Certificate of Competency issued by the Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission-Ghana;
•   5 years of underground mining experience with at least 3-5 years of hands-on exposure in a similar position;
•   Fluent with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
•   A training the trainers or supervisory certificate of competency.
•   Effective budgeting, planning and scheduling skills for both production and projects;
•   Problem-solving and decision-making skills;
•   Effective management skills and ability to train and mentor others;
•   Willing to work extended hours to meet tight deadlines;
•   Effective communication skills both written and oral;

Job Purpose:

•   Organise and up-date spares parts inventory and advice management of any short falls. Actively seek ways to optimize inventory  levels while minimizing air freight costs

•   A holder of first degree in mechanical Engineering with proven 10 years’ experience in Plant Operations and maintenance will be preferred.
•   Engineering Manager’s Certification as prescribed by the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission is a must

Qualification Required & Experience

•   The position requires experience, understanding and competency in surveying of underground development ends and stopes as well as the use of Cavity monitoring equipment to estimate volumes and tonnages in stopes.
•   A tertiary qualification in survey with knowledge in baseline, geodetic and Cadastral surveys;
•   Must have a minimum of seven (7) years mine surveying experience In underground operations;
•   Proficient in the use of underground mine survey software. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using Surpac and Dassault software suites;
•   Strong knowledge in the use of Leica and Topkon Sokkia survey instruments and GPS equipment;
•   Excellent communication and people management skills;
•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian drivers’ License.
