Position: Engineering Supervisor – Mechanical

Key Responsibilities:

•   Directs, maintains and enforces the safety program; assist to review safety policies and procedures to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance personnel;
•   Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintain mechanical engineering equipment;
•   Supervises and assigns work to mechanical technicians;
•   Inspects work for completeness;
•   Responsible for the conduct of planned mechanical maintenance services, control of labour and the procurement of materials for unscheduled and emergency work;
•   Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by his supervisor

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution;
•   Five (5) years mechanical engineering experience preferably in the mining industry;
•   Five (5) years supervisory experience preferably in the mining industry;
•   Problem solving and decision making skills;
•   Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods and procedures to work situation;

Position: Unit Manager Process Maintenance

Key Responsibilities:

•   Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated to ensure achievement of maintenance programs in a safe, timely and cost effective manner;
•   Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement;
•   Initiates and carries out projects that improves efficiency and/or reduce operating costs;
•   Ensures Minerals Commission and Machinery Inspection regulations relating to engineering maintenance are met at all times;
•   Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution;
•   Engineering Certificate of Competency issued by Minerals Commission of Ghana;
•   5 -8 years experience in process maintenance;
•   Initiates project that improves plant efficiency or reduce operating cost;
•   Problem solving and decision making skills;
•   Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods and procedures to work situation;

•   Be the custodian of company inventory items by way of correctly receiving, appropriately stocking and efficiently distributing them to end users;

•   Facilitates dispatch and return of rotary and offsite repair items;
•   Develops and maintains a world-class mine Catalogue with items well classified to facilitate good stock control practices;
•   Determines optimal ordering levels of production materials to ensure optimal service levels, stock-turns and stockholding levels;
•   Develops, maintains and runs weekly re-order reports to replenish stock items;
•   Scrutinizes Purchase Requisitions to ensure items on them are not already on catalogue;
•   Handles and resolves quality complaints from end users regarding non-conforming items delivered or found in stock;
•   Ensures items being introduced to stock are adequately and properly described to facilitate easy identification on the market;
•   Continually reviews stocks in terms of their movement patterns and takes decisions in concert with the relevant HODs to re-classify non-moving stocks as Obsolete or redundant;
•   Continually reviews stocks with the view to moving significant, identifiable commodity groups into the contract environment in concert with the Logistics &Procurement Unit to maximize total cost of acquisition to the company;
•   Plays early and active role in the stock introduction process with user departments to ensure standardization and variety reduction on the mine;
•   Identifies by way of an early warning system, items that by some abnormal demand somewhere, may be running out earlier than projected to ensure early replenishment; and
•   Ensures that Stores Requisitions unable to be served off the shelf are swiftly catered for, in terms of a quick stock review to determine whether to re-order or to arrange expediting of outstanding order(s), or both, in liaison with Procurement.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain and Logistics from a recognized University or equivalent tertiary institution;
•   A qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or equivalent professional institution;
•   A least 5 years’ experience in similar position;
•   Dynamic knowledge and understanding of Procurement, Supply Chain and the Mining environment;

Position: Engineering Supervisor – Electricals

•   Lead a team of skilled electrical technicians in the execution of all electrical works on the mine and processing plant;

•   Strong experience in Variable speed drives, Soft-­?starters and industrial drive systems;

•   Evaluate effectiveness of training and modify training materials as appropriate;
•   Responsible for all safety related training programs
•   Plan, organize and facilitates safety induction training & driver training and permitting on the mine
•   Assist in the design and teaching of quality auditing program to meet ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001 management systems;
•   Conduct employees health & safety needs analysis periodically and come out with training strategies to close gaps identified
•   Facilitate work specific mine-­?wide health & safety and other training interventions
•   Training & permitting of employees on effective and safe use of lifting equipment and light vehicles
•   Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Unit Manager – People and Organizational Development.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution
•   A Train the trainer certificate
•   Safety Health & Environment certificate
•   Minimum of four (4) years’ post qualification work experience in a similar position in the Mining or related industry
•   Experience in designing, delivering and maintaining training materials is essential
•   Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
•   Must be a team player
•   Must be Honest and high on integrity
•   Must possess valid Ghanaian Driver’s license
•   Ability to work for long hours without supervision
•   Good oral and written communication skills.
