Job Vacancy For Project Administrative Assistant At UNDP Ghana

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) of Ghana, in partnership with UNDP and funding support from the Government of Norway, has initiated a new project “Community Resilience through Early Warning (CREW)” to build capacities in Ghana to reduce’ disaster risk by putting in place an integrated early warning system that is both scientific and people-centred. Applications are now invited from experience professionals for the above position within NADMO and UNDP.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Cluster Manager, Sustainable Development Cluster, the Project Administrative Assistant provides project management support services, including processing requests for payments, budget management and monitoring. The Project Administrative Assistant promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach in the Sustainable Development Cluster.

Summary of Key Functions:

•  Provision of project support services and support to financial monitoring and reporting and working closely with the UNDP-designated project officers and any other duties assigned.

Requirement Qualifications:

•  Education and Experience: Secondary Education with specialized training in financial management.
•  University Degree in Business or Public Administration would be desirable.
•  Six years of relevant administrative experience is required at the national or international level.
•  Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and experience in handling of web based management systems.
•  Experience in ATLAS project management system is an asset.

Language Requirements:

•  Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station

The Project Officer providers project, managerial, and budget oversight. She/he will also serve as the UNDP focal person for the project and will liaise with the project management office and NADMO. She/he will directly report to the Cluster Manager of the Sustainable Development Cluster. In order to successfully deliver his/her work, he/she needs to work closely with and mobilize inputs from the project management unit staff, national and international technical specialists, and M&E expert.

•  Provision of project, managerial and budget oversight, reporting and networking and ensure and timely delivery of the project activities according to work plan and budget.

•  Proficiency in Internet Research and Data Gathering.
•  Proficiency in other Project Management tools and software is a plus

Language Requirements:

•  Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station

The Technical Advisor will among other duties, be part of the project management team in NADMO. She/he will directly report to the Project Manager and provide technical support to the project management team to ensure quality delivery of project outputs that are in lin with international and national best practices. His/her work requires close collaboration with the UNDP-based quality assurance team.

•  Technical services in areas related to early warning system, disaster risk reduction, GIS and mapping, community-based capacity building, climate change adaptation
•  Building strategic partnerships, Networking, Substantive technical innovation and work with the Project Manager on all substantive and technical issues to deliver the project
