Scope of Role:

• The junior advisor supports in dealing with all questions arising in this area and identifying relevant problems and issues and assisting in formulating implementation-oriented solutions, as well as further developing instruments and assisting in introducing innovation and change.
• You manage knowledge by documenting and disseminating know-how, experience and information. You also assist management with policy issues regarding supply chain programmes, and assist in knowledge management with regards to the Matching Grant Fund projects.

Tasks:

• Develops strategies and technical concepts including guidelines, manuals and procedures, which are ready to be applied and/or replicated.
• Supports in data collection and analysis relating to enabling environment for business development and sustainability measures.
• Supports in reporting from and to Matching Grant partners, and towards funding agencies.
• Carries out specific research tasks which are required for planning the implementation of projects or programmes.
• Compiles the relevant information for joint activities and assignments.
• Prepares call for research grants, analysis proposals and accompanies implementation of selected research grants.
• Compiles information on his/her area of responsibility and ensures the transfer within the programme as well as with stakeholders.
• Prepares reports, presentation material and appropriate input to the various programme reports and publications including annual reports, etc.
• Plans, coordinates and documents meetings, workshops, seminars, and other project activities with a focus on technical aspects.
• Supports in planning and implementing thematic events, and learning and innovation sessions for peer learning of Matching Grant funds (also online).
• Documents best practices from Matching Grant projects with private partners and research grants for sector learning.
• Researches and writes terms of references for contracts on trainings, workshops, and other events within the project/programme.
• Supports with actors analysis and engagement.
• Assists with learning and innovation meetings and exchange platforms in collaboration with private and public actors.
• Liaises and harmonises approaches and activities with key actors.
• Contributes to thinking on overall strategic direction and approach, primarily through programme level planning and learning processes.

Qualification Required & Experience

Profile:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in political science, public management/policy, development studies, statistics, computer science, information technology or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, excellent writing skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Team, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent knowledge of English; and basic knowledge in French will be an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, strong team orientation, cooperation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge in quantitative/qualitative analysis, ability to produce structured reports.
• Knowledge on GIZ processes will be an advantage.

The Junior Technical Advisor (M&E and Information Technology) supports the team leader and other experts perform technical tasks. He/She carries out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management for the project and develops monitoring structure based on the project log frame, gathered baseline and continuous tracking of indicators towards management and project team. He/She produces regular reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required (e.g. quarterly EU snapshot summaries) and provides technical ICT support for PSD Unit/MGF and HCD on e-learnings

Tasks:

• Collects data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
• Responsible for planning, coordinating, documenting, and reporting on relevant topics needed by M&E.
• Assists in putting together an overview of project/programme activities, deadlines etc. and presents this regularly at team meetings.
• Facilitates the exchange between partners and project stakeholders, prepare meetings and provide relevant information.
• Carries out specific research tasks which are required for planning the implementation of projects or programmes.
• Compiles the relevant information for joint activities and assignments.
• In consultation with the technical advisors, prepares and carries out qualitative research projects (developing survey instruments, field trials, training

• Represents the interest of the GIZ-assisted measure and always acts on its behalf.

Qualification Required & Experience

Profile:

• BSc degree in Information Technology or any related field.
• Knowledge on Matching Grant Fund Project will be an advantage.
• Knowledge on GIZ processes will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in website management and GIZ software systems like SAP.
• Have a minimum of 2 years professional experience.

Project Brief:

In the context of the global project “Centres for Migration and Development (CMD)” GIZ is operating the “Ghanaian-European Centre for Jobs, Migration and Development”. The Centre is co-funded by the European Union. Its mandate is to provide jobseekers with information and advisory counselling on the employment opportunities in Ghana and abroad. It does so by working in three components:

Scope of Role:

Tasks:

• Work in a team of advisors under the supervision of the Centre’s Component Manager

• Excellent written and oral English and Ghanaian language skills; German working knowledge would be an asset.

JOB SUMMARY

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Law, Governance, International Development, the Social and Management Sciences and Media;
• A continuous working experience in senior management/leadership positions, preferably with five years in a governance-related CSO;
• A strong working background on transparency and anti-corruption issues;
• Proven experience in engaging with, and influencing government, policy institutions and other key players in governance policies and legislation;
• Strong executive-level financial management experience, including demonstrated experience of successfully managing and leading teams, fundraising and understanding financial reports;

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of the national and global development agenda and the role of anticorruption and good governance in that agenda;

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow up on administrative requests of the Partnerships and Communications Unit
• Process and manage routine administrative and financial tasks interfacing the unit and other functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources.

• The Supporting Private and Financial Sector (PFS) programme was commissioned in January 2023 for a period of three years.
• The programme aims to improve the employment situation of MSMEs in five regions of Ghana, i.e., Greater Accra, Ashanti, Bono, Bono
East and Ahafo. It has five outputs namely, support for financial services, service offering through regional networks for MSMEs;
employment services for returnees and migrants; green economy measures; and foundations for vaccine production.

Scope of Role:

• The Technical Advisor will be working in the output of service offering through regional networks for MSMEs.
• He/She will be responsible for daily implementation and operational aspects of all service providers in the regional network.
• He/she will support the PFS through the provision of technical assistance and advice to the programme partners / service providers and ensure the operationalisation of activities within the regional network of service providers for MSMEs with a focus on integration of financial,
business development and employment service providers in the regional network.

Tasks:

• Supports the coordination, liaison and advice to the partner organisations in the regional network of service providers for MSMEs.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of six (6) years’ professional experience in a comparable position with a development organisation
• Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience on the topic of facilitating relationship between Business Development Service provider/Financial Service Providers/ employment service providers, working with programs that are of a similar scope and complexity in Ghana specifically within the context of private and financial sector development or any other comparable institutions.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, management, and organisational skills.
• Possess strong command of English language (both written and oral); knowledge of German language is an asset

Scope of Role:

• As an Advisor for Rural Development you are responsible to identify, develop and implement processes that anchor knowledge on climate resilient agricultural production methodologies within the agricultural sector.
• For this you work together with the Agricultural Extension Service of MoFA, NGOs as well as the Private Sector.
• Within the project you cooperate with other units to develop measures on behavioural change as well as innovative approaches to engage
communities within their livelihoods.

Tasks:

• Provide technical advice to improve agricultural extension outreach in northern Ghana, to develop community action plans as well as for knowledge management on agricultural practices, especially on Conservation Agriculture
• Conceptualisation of Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for the joint implementation of rural development approaches
• Establishing conceptual links and integrated solutions with other units of the project, esp. GIS, ICT and Communication.
• Advising partners in the field of Conservation Agriculture, Community Engagement and other Rural Development topics.
• Take over responsibility for implementation of processes guided by the production unit as well as other specific tasks.
• Prepare terms of reference, budgets, surveys, specifications and other documents to contract service providers or procure goods.
• Monitor and supervise activities and responsibilities of external service providers.
• Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations on the procurement of agrochemicals and other agro inputs

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s degree in Rural Development, Agronomy, Agroecology, Agricultural Extension, Community Development or any other relevant field for the position.
• 5 years’ professional experience in the field of Rural Development with a focus on Extension Services, Climate Change, Conservation Agriculture and/or Community Engagement as well as experience in working with public sector institutions
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and create and maintain effective relationships with private companies and government personnel
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Team, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent knowledge of English; Knowledge of local languages of Upper West is a strong asset.
• Good knowledge of the cultural dimensions and undertones in the Upper West Region
• Ability to work under pressure, strong team orientation, cooperation and negotiation skills

Project Brief:

GIZ has been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union to implement the Joint Action “Migration, Jobs and Development”. The aim is to provide economic and social reintegration measures for returned and jobseekers, capacity building for members of employment promotion institutions, engaging diaspora organisations, pursuing legal pathways of labour migration and establishing regional employment promotion networks

Scope of Role:

• The Technical Advisor for Regular Migration shall manage and promote the implementation of legal pathways of labour and educational migration between Ghana and Germany, Europe and in the West African subregion in the context of the EU-Germany joint action on “Jobs, Migration and Development”.
• He/She shall also support all activities in the field of regular migration for the social and economic development in Ghana, by working
in close consultation with the coordinator, the project manager and other staff members of the Programme Migration for Development and the
Programme “Support to the Private and Financial Sector”

Tasks:

• Supporting with the development or revision of schemes on education or labour migration/mobility between Ghana and Germany, Europe
and others.
• Engaging policy makers and implementers from public and private sector as well as from EUMS through facilitation multi-stakeholder
engagement on development-oriented models of regular migration.
• Conducting capacity development to local service providers on regular migration.
• Researching and developing an overview of currently existing regular migration channels and current interventions related to the enhancement of them, setting up of a coordination mechanism.
• Coordinating the setting up of a “Europe Desk” at PECs or similar institutions in Ghana for information on regular migration options
• Supporting the advisor’s team of the Ghanaian-European Centre with information on regular migration pathways to Germany and Europe.
• Engaging in counselling activities of clients of the GEC on issues of regular migration to Germany and Europe as well as in the West African subregion.
• Link up and identify synergies with other interventions of German and European development cooperation and engaging in modes of
cooperation.
• Liaising with relevant political and implementation partners on technical level.
• Implementing capacity building measures for relevant actors on regular labour migration, e.g. for recruitment agencies.
• Preparing reports relevant to this technical area.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s degree in an area that is related to the project/programme objectives, with a focus on a relevant field.
• Professional experience in planning and implementation of projects
• Technical knowledge and experience in labour migration, education and training
• Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
• Good understanding of the topic of migration, its place in Ghanaian society and significant actors.
• Proficient in spoken and written English; a working knowledge of German is an asset.
• Strong managerial, organisational, social competence skills and ability to easily adapt and manage change.
• Very strong communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders and facilitate networking.
• Experience with EU projects is an asset.

• Coordinate the engagement of diaspora organisations to mobilise know how transfer (e.g. in form of technical missions or cooperative
projects with local NGOs) to Ghana
• Coordinate the engagement of diaspora members for short- and long-term return to Ghana to enter development-relevant assignments.
• Support networking and awareness raising activities with Ghanaian diaspora in Germany and Europe on issues of engagement in Ghana.
• Liaise with projects team and relevant actors on regional economic development on issues of diaspora involvement in regional economic
development, promoting involvement of diaspora in such networks.
• Support the participation of diaspora in regional employment promotion networks.
• Link up and identify synergies with other interventions of German and European development cooperation and engage in modes of
cooperation.
• Developing interventions in this area which focus particularly on the inclusion and empowerment of women and vulnerable groups.
• Support collaboration between diaspora organisations and local NGOs on development-oriented projects and coordinate grant agreements.
• Implement capacity building interventions for diaspora organisations and diaspora.
• Develop interventions in this area which focus particularly on the inclusion and empowerment of women and vulnerable group

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master’s degree in an area that is related to the project/programme objectives, with a focus on a relevant field.
