Job Title: Head of Human Resource and Administration

Job Summary

The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing director and will be responsible for advising on and initiating human resource and Administration systems, strategies, policies and procedures. The Head of HR and Administration will be responsible for the full range of tasks including but not limited to hiring and retaining staff, orientation of new employees, compensation, performance reviews, benefits administration and employee relations. The incumbent will be responsible for the Human Resource and Administrative function within the company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

•   Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Human Resource and Administrative function
•   Develop and monitor departmental budget, goals and objectives for both HR and Administrative teams
•   Plan, implement and manage the Human Resource function including staffing, staff development, performance management, and compensation and employee relations
•   Liaise with appropriate officers to ensure that HR policies and procedures are adhered to:
•   Process payroll and ensure that all statutory payments are made to the appropriate regulatory bodies in a timely manner
•   Oversee administrative office staff in maintaining files and other documents appropriately
•   Ensure office facilities and other resources are well managed

Qualification Required & Experience

Interested applicants must have the following qualifications and experience

•   First degree in Business Administration (Human Resource Management Option) with minimum og ten(10) years relevant post qualification experience.And/or
•   Professional qualification with either of the following institutions. IHRMP, HRCI, CHRP or any recognized Human Resource Management Body/Masters Degree in HRM and a minimum of 6 years relevant post qualification experience
•   Proven management, supervisory, budgeting and negotiating skills
•   Skills in facilitation, collaborate team building and conflict management
•   Effective organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure as well as prioritize issues and make policy and other recommendations

Role Purpose:

•   Liaise with departments to ensure that the placement, orientation and probationary period of new employees are strictly adhered.
•   Maintain and update Human Resource Information System (HRIS) in accordance with directives.
•   Maintain/update employee records and files.
•   Coordinate and support the Company in the administration and management of training programmes.
•   Provide support in the implementation of the performance management system at the Vehicle Assembly Plant Limited.
•   Collate data for the preparation of monthly/periodic HR Reports.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A University degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences or related discipline plus 3 years relevant work experience.

•   Provide input in database set up, testing and benefit or payroll related data clean up in conjunction with the Performance and Reward Manager.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related field plus post degree qualification in Human Resources Management with 7 years’ experience (with at least 3 years in management position).

Summary of Job Description;

Training and Development

Qualification Required & Experience
