Job Summary

•   Monitors the performances of all subordinates and ensures that maintenance works are being carried out in accordance with laid down procedures and best practices.
•   Maintains continuous communication with other supervisors to enable quick response to complaints on equipment/ machinery thus minimizing breakdowns periods.
•   Prepares notes on equipment/ mechanical faults and any other relevant information required for the next shift.
•   Supervises daily mechanical maintenance and modification works in the section.
•   Formulates plans and allocate required manpower for all maintenance related works and maintains smooth and continuous operation within the section.
•   Prepares estimates and quotes on repairs for work to be carried out in the workshop where applicable
•   Promotes and monitor maintenance works on site to ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental Standards
•   Supervises all maintenance Personnel in the Workshop including Auto Electricians, A/C Mechanics, Tyre Fitters, Welders/ Fabricators, etc.
•   Performs any other related duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must possess a Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with at least five (5) years working experience in a similar role.
•   In depth exposure to Mining Operations
•   Must be a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.
•   Must have working knowledge on CAT, Volvo and Sandvik diagnostics Programmes.
•   Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Acts & Regulations.
•   Must have the ability to lead, motivate and get the best performance out of subordinates
•   Must be a computer literate – MS Office Suite.

Job Summary

The position is responsible for overseeing testing procedures, writing reports and making sure that the instruments developed comply with quality standards and safety regulations. The person is also responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control CGML Process Plant engineering systems, machinery and processes.

Duties

•   Designing and developing new control systems and maintaining and modifying existing systems
•   Managing project within cost and time constrained environments; troubleshooting and problem-solving
•   Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards of the mine.
•   Providing advice and consultancy support in purchasing equipment
•   Accepting responsibility and a level of accountability commensurate with the seniority of the position.
•   Actively participating in CGML Continuous Improvement Program
•   Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating instruments
•   Performing testing, maintaining and modifying existing Process Plant Control Systems.
•   Analysing data and present findings in written reports
•   Working collaboratively with OEM design engineers, CGML operations and maintenance team, purchasers and other internal staff and external consultants
•   Calibrating readings on instruments according to standards and adjusts phasing and aligns stages to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function
•   Programming automation and control systems involving PLCs
•   Maintaining an official log of all PLC bypassing and forces installed
•   Ensuring bypasses and forces are regularly reviewed and repaired / removed.
•   Designing control panel and field termination of panels to house PLC and field device wiring termination and device powering.
•   Selecting and installing instrument field devices including I/O skills.
•   Validating of process sensors to ensure suitability-to-task
•   Bench calibration and verification of sensors and actuators
•   Building components of the solutions, including wiring and environment controls and ensuring safe electro-mechanical operations.
•   Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A degree in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering, computing or applied physics
•   Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrical/ instrumentation field engineer
•   Preferably an applicant who has 3-5 years’ experience in mining maintenance field
•   Have a proven track record in programming and the ability to develop and implement
•   standard engineering practices, as well as proof of or ability to provide detailed documentation upon project completion.
•   Has the skills of quality job execution, and able to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues and other     departments.
•   Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•   Excellent critical thinking skills and a high level of numeracy
•   Good communication and interpersonal skills Well-developed oral English, written communications and report writing skills.
•   Strong team working skills, with an ability to motivate others and to lead or manage teams and  projects
•   Flexibility and an ability to compromise and willingness to accept responsibility and make decisions
•   Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Modicun, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Automation Direct, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, etc.
•   MSHA training
•   Current driving license

Job Summary

Asanko Gold Inc. is seeking to employ an experienced person to fill the role of Unit Manager – Mining Production. Reporting to the Manager Mining and working closely with the mining contractor’s Shift Supervisors, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all mining management and legal requirements are maintained to achieve the mine’s safety and production objectives. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The Camp facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis, pool tables, table soccer and soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Effective execution of the mining contract on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
•   Day-to-day management of mining production;
•   Close management of mining Health and Safety;

•   Close monitoring of the mining KPIs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
•   Management of production clerks;

Qualification Required & Experience

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to put his/her stamp on what is effectively a Greenfield operation. Having worked in a comparable environment, the successful candidate will be expected to bring a wealth of experience in effectively managing mining contracts on a daily weekly and monthly basis.

•   BSc. or Diploma in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline;
•   Mine Superintendents’ or Mine Captains’ Certificate of Competency;
•   At least 8 years previous experience in open pit mining, 5 of which should have been in a similar capacity;
•   A Valid Ghanaian driver’s license;
•   Demonstrable understanding of relevant applicable legislations and Mining Regulations;
•   Computer literacy and experience in the use of mining software programs;
•   Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Supervisory skills and ability to lead and motivate the production team(s); and
•   A hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required results;

Perseus Mining is a dual listed (Australia, Toronto) gold miner and explorer focused on the West African region. Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana.

Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold

The successful applicant will report to the Manager – Mine Projects and will have the following responsibilities:

•   Providing leadership and to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety standards that are in accordance with industry practice and any applicable legislative specification
•   Maintaining close relation with the Mine Projects Contractors and PMGL Superintendents to ensure required works are on schedule and within budget.
•   Ensuring that the remaining Flotation Tailings Storage Facility (FTSF) development and future uplifts, Eastern pits development infrastructure, i.e. access and haul roads and other infrastructure are constructed to design specification.
•   Ensuring that all mine projects documentation and reporting are correct and accurate.
•   Coordinating with the relevant departments and sections to ensure that all documentations required at the Mine Projects Department and for safe and optimal completion of mine projects are provided on time
•   Continually reviewing every aspect of the mine projects to ensure that opportunities to add value and increase shareholder wealth are identified and implemented.
•   Developing training and monitoring programmes to ensure that subordinate employees develop new skills and achieve their full potential and ensure optimum employee performance

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
•   At least 3 years at Superintendent level in major metalliferous or precious metal mining operations.
•   Over 10 years in open pit mining operations with base or precious metal ore body experience.
•   Greenfield mine development experience.
•   Experience in management of small to medium sized earthworks contractors
