KEY PURPOSE OF JOB:

MAJOR TASK HEADINGS

•   Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Documenting financial transactions and entering account information.
•   Ensure timely collection of all outstanding account receivables.
•   Prepare daily sales invoices and reporting with ageing analysis.

•   Answering accounts receivable and Payables inquiries.
•   Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments or other irregularities and provide needed support for collection.
•   Prepare collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
•   Prepare and submit reports to the Head of Finance as will be specified.
•   Reconcile entire Customers (debtors and Suppliers’) ledger monthly.
•   Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
•   Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Finance Manager.

Qualification Required & Experience

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENT

•   A minimum of an MBA / MSc in accounting plus foundation in any professional certification
•   At least 3-5 years working experience
•   Ability to use QuickBooks
•   Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
•   Possess excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

Job Purpose:

•   To assist in ensuring the overall integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger as a basis for the preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
•   To support the Accountant on all matters relating to the operation of the Finance Department that includes, capturing and processing of financial information, financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and overall financial discipline.
•   Contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the Finance Department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail.
•   Assist with the preparation of management accounts and preparation of statutory financial reports.
•   Ensuring compliance with IFRS financial reporting requirements

Position Role and Responsibilities:

•   Meet all internal and external reporting requirements timelines.
•   Assist in monitoring all Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts movements, and ensuring that they reflect the correct balances, and all relevant account reconciliations are performed and corrective actions taken.
•   Process payments and reconciliation of all transactions on the various investment portfolios.
•   Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual commentaries on the results, including investigation into inconsistent and/or major variances

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of a second class upper division in B.Com (Accounting/Finance), Bsc Admin (Accounting/Finance).
•   Part qualification of ICA (Ghana), ACCA, CIMA is desirable
•   Minimum of 4 years working experience in the financial services industry.
•   Reasonable understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
•   Computer literacy and knowledge of personal computers and software packages such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access.
•   Working knowledge of appropriate accounting software.

Job Summary

The Accountant provides accounting and financial services for the Project in the areas of disbursement, financial record keeping, reporting and budgeting. The Accountant is aware of, and adheres to Global Communities procurement integrity standards in all activities.

Specific Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

•   Prepare payment vouchers and write checks to the attention of the senior accountant.
•   Create vouchers and checks for replenishment of petty cash.
