To manage and grow a portfolio of Business Banking customers, building long-term relationships founded on efficient and reliable support for their business.

The job holder will report to the Head of Commercial Banking, and will additionally responsible for business development.

Key Accountabilities

•   Understand the overall strategy of Barclays Ghana and how the strategy of Business Banking supports this.
•   Developing and nurturing strategic relationships with the Clients to ensure that the strategy and business objectives of the client and Bank are achieved.
•   Conduct annual review of customers’ borrowing facilities and supply credit information and briefings to the credit committee.
•   Proactively understand the Clients strategic direction and long term needs; as well as the opportunities and threats to the client.
•   Planning and  coordinating any marketing approaches for new business and actively developing existing relationships.
•   Researching, creating and following up on database of potential new businesses.
•   Proactively and timeously identifies potential problem accounts and formulates appropriate risk mitigating strategies.

Qualification Required & Experience

Competence, expertise & knowledge

•   Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a client facing role
•   Demonstrated knowledge of corporate knowledge especially to multinationals
•   Strong team building and management
•   Strong networking skills
•   Demonstrated credit skills
•   Ability to communicate at all levels
•   Ability to work with little or no supervision
•   Demonstrable co-ordination skills

The job holder will be the point of contact for customers in the Business Banking Unit, dealing with service requirement and to enhance the customer experience. The role will also include provision of the needed support to the other members of the Business Banking Team.

Key Accountabilities

•   Handle customer’s routine enquiries and complaints regarding the bank’s services and identify ways of minimizing complaints from customers
•   Monitor level of customer service and satisfaction and adopt strategies in collaboration with other team members to improve customer service delivery
•   Fully accountable for the relationship with the client across all hierarchical levels and coordinates all contacts between the bank and the client
•   Assist Relationship team to develop and maintain credible relationships with clients at appropriate levels through reliable, proactive service delivery and skilful application of specialist knowledge
•   Assisting with the creation of credit applications
•   Collating customer information on servicing performance for Relationship Managers (including volume of transactions and income)
•   Developing and maintaining own contacts with individuals within customer’s organization
•   Monitoring and pre-empting risks for both the customers and the Bank

Qualification Required & Experience

Competence, expertise & knowledge

•   Minimum of 2 years post National Service relevant experience in a client facing role
•   Ability to communicate at all levels with emphasis on strong listening skills
•   Demonstrated networking skills
•   Demonstrated knowledge of products and services used by the Business Banking customers
•   Basic knowledge of credit procedures

Job Vacancy For Business Manager – Business Banking Unit At Barclays Bank

Reporting to the Director, Business Banking, this role will be responsible for assisting the Director in managing the overall business along the lines of performance management, complaints resolution, business project implementation, strategy implementation, Exco reporting, HR, risk. Compliance and all either Operational issues, among others.

Key Accountabilities

•   Attending a multitude of forums, project and management meetings to stay up to date with operational conditions and provide early warning to the Director, Business Banking on any probable issues and proposed solutions.
•   Acting as key advisor to the Director, Business Banking providing knowledgeable review and recommendations, ensuring that context, analysts and the views of the respective areas are collated, filtered and summarised in a concise manner.
•   Acting as initial point of entry for escalated queries and for queries from other external stakeholders and attending to queries or relaying the query to appropriate individuals when falling outside scope.
•   Advising the Director, Business Banking on ongoing issues and programmes to address these in the business unit and set up a process for monitoring.
•   Interfacing with the Director of Business Banking’s direct reports and to assist them to prioritise business focus areas.
•   Continuously monitoring the overall Business Performance (Finance, Risk, Compliance, Change, HR) of the business unit and advise the Director,Business Banking of any possible deviations and the actions taken by the Business Heads to address these.
