Objective of the Position

• Transport Officer will be responsible for the day to day management of the Transport Unit

Responsibilities

• Prepare and keep inventory of all vehicles of the organization
• Prepare work schedules for drivers and supervise their daily activities
• Prepare and enforce scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for official vehicles
• Collect, analyze and keep records for fuel and maintenance cost of all official vehicles for use as reference for vehicles management
• Ensure that all official vehicles are roadworthy as per the Ghana Road Safety regulations (Road Traffic Act 2004, Act 683)
• Advise management on vehicle acquisition, accessories and repairs
• Provide technical advice to management on transport issues
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on vehicles
• Prepare quarterly reports on all official vehicles
• Prepare and update transport policy periodically
• Meet all official transport requirements for all divisions
• Liaise with stakeholders (vehicles dealers for vehicle supply & warranty, Driver and vehicular licensing authority for road worthiness certification, insurance companies for insurance, Ghana Police Service for accidents & theft cases, oil Marketing Companies for fuel & lube purchases)

Qualification Required & Experience

• HND in Automobile / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years post qualification experience

OR

• Motor Vehicle Technician III of City and Guilds with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
• At least 2 years practical vehicle workshop experience

Skill Requirements

• Excellent co-ordination and organizational skills
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Good interpersonal relations
• Good written and oral communication skills
• IT literacy skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Possess at least a Class B valid driving license
