Job Description

You shall report to the General Manager and your role shall include but not limited to the following:

• You shall spearhead supervise the loan monitoring and recovery teams of bank
• You shall adhere strictly to the lending policies of the bank
• You shall review loan appraisal reports with the objective of minimizing avoidable risk in credit delivery
• You shall ensure that credit officers submit periodic loan monitoring including call reports as required in credit policies
• You shall ensure that loan delinquency level is always maintained within standard and always maintaining a high portfolio quality
• You shall work to achieve the credit budget of the bank yearly
• You shall monitor account performances to identify potential non-performing assets and recommend remedial actions
• You shall monitor loans to identify early warning signs
• You shall be in charge of the recovery unit of the bank and thus ensure efficient deployment of resources in the unit
• You shall report periodically as required in the performance of loans under the loand recovery unit
• You shall conduct credit audit of the credit delivery process
• You shall prepare credit report and maintain proper filing of problem/impaired loans
• You shall submit timely periodic loan monitoring reports
• It shall be your responsibility to train credit and recovery officers
• You shall assist the Marketing Manager in the design of credit products
• You shall ensure that existing credit policies are reviewed from time to time
• You shall ensure that loans are appropriately classified and are consistent with BoG requirements and adequate loan provisions are made per loan
• You shall recommend for approval, write off of loans under write off policies of the bank
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the General Manager and the sub committee on credit

Qualification Required & Experience

• 1st Degree Banking, Accounting, Agric or any other relevant professional course
• 7 years in credit operations of which 5 years is in managerial capacity in a reputable financial institution
