JOB TITLE: Human Resource Manager

SUMMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Preparing Role Profiles for employment positions and organizing and managing recruitment/hiring process
•   Create Company Employee Contracts and collect relevant identification (manage the updating of Employee files as well)
•   Develop human resource policy framework and drive their implementations.
•   Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
•   Update and maintain Company Internal Guidelines in accordance with Company’s Corporate Standard and Ghana Labour Laws
•   Prepare Payroll Slips and ensuring all deductions and tax reporting and payments are made to the statutory bodies (SSNIT, GRA Pay as You Earn (PAYE), SSNIT Tier 2/3 Manager, etc.)
•   Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling employees and supervisors.
•   Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BA degree required – in Business Administration or Human Resource Management or any related field from an accredited University
•   SME background  (so candidate has broad experience)
•   3-7 years relevant working experience
•   Strong Microsoft Office Skills
•   Strong Managerial and Organizational Skills

Perseus Mining (Ghana) limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana. Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 7.9Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,OOOoz gold per annum.

Purpose of Role:

•   The purpose of this role is to play a crucial part in change management, develop the organisation’s culture and the capacity of its people and provide general Human Resources and Administrative support to the business by performing HR related duties at an advanced and professional level.
•   This role is predominantly focused on assisting the Senior HR Manager to establish and implement change and fair recognition that reflect the performance of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Ensure people skills, behaviours, values, attitudes and contribution to the success of the organisation are rewarded and recognised in a fair, market based and cost-effective manner
•   Establish salary levels and allowances and manage pay relativities
•   Create and sustain a high-performance culture
•   Communicate with employees the success change and the risks and challenges associated with change

•   Communicate and educate employees and line managers about the Company’s reward strategy
•   Identify and manage the risks around pay and benefits
