Position: Training and Process Improvement Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

•   Supervise and train crew who are responsible for the operation of the process plant and associated facilities (tailings dam and water storage system facility, gold room and the gravity/carbon handling circuits);
•   Assist in the implementation and management of a competency based training program for process plant employees;
•   Work with the metallurgical team to ensure optimum performance of the process plant;
•   Work with the maintenance team to achieve efficient process plant equipment performance and availability through training;
•   Assist in the development and review of process operation’s SOP’s, management plans and operating procedures, guidelines;
•   Actively participate in continuous improvement programs to assist in enhancing the performance of the process plant operations;
•   Provide hands-on assistance during operations activities and ensure that safe work practices are followed;
•   Ensure the transfer of knowledge and technology to employees and support employee training and skill development;
•   Assist in Mentorship and development of employees in accordance with the succession plan

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc or Msc. Degree in Metallurgy/Chemistry/Chemical or equivalent from a tertiary insitution;
•   At least ten (10) years hands-on experience in a Gold Processing Plant;
•   Demonstrate a thorough understanding of ICMC code relating to Metallurgical operations;
•   Minimum of 3 years Plant Operations supervisory experience;
•   Process operating experience in Crushing, SAG and Ball mill grinding with commissioning experience is desirable;
•   At least 5 years hands on metallurgical training experience;
•   Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
•   Good Metallurgical report writing skills;
•   Demonstrate ability to initiate new ideas to improve plant efficiency;
•   Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, database management and GIS knowledge.
•   Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
•   Valid Ghanaian Driver’s license.

Purpose of Role

To ensure the efficient supervision and control of Electrical Maintenance Team by allocating and managing resources (people and equipment) to attain production and engineering objectives and actively participate in CGML Continuous Improvement programme.

Responsibilities & Duties

•   Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic systems, units and components of machines and equipment.
•   Execute the planned jobs according to priorities and the availability of equipment and in accordance with Kinross work management practices.
•   Organise and lead electrical team to ensure each job is done safely, timely and with highest quality
•   Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance, ensures safety at each work place
•   Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local codes
•   Perform periodical and scheduled inspection programs to maintain CGML Underground assets and infrastructure according to established mine maintenance and engineering standards and keep them in a good condition
•   Respond to emergency calls in a timely and safe manner
•   Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints
•   Assist in training of CGML Engineering Staff as required. Ensure that Contractors are performing according to contractual obligations with the Company.
•   Open, review and close Work Orders in JDE, prepare Purchase Requisitions and estimates
•   Work with other maintenance software tools as required
•   Investigate and provide technical reports for any incidents and participate in Root Cause Analysis of failures when required.
•   Coordinate with the planning section to set / review required maintenance / repair plans, maintenance schedules and strategies
•   Execute planned jobs according to priorities and in accordance with Kinross work management practices.
•   Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance
•   Plan scheduled shutdown maintenance, conduct shutdown meetings and post-shutdown reviews.
•   Assist in preparing annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the section.
•   Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned by your supervisor in accordance to the company’s policies.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must have a Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Provide emergency First Aid and advanced trauma life support to persons working on site;

•   Provide direct and indirect patient care;
•   Transfer patients to the emergency units of the mine clinic or any location as may be directed by the medical doctor;

•   Sterilize the ambulance’s interior if it is used to carry a patient suffering from infectious disease;
•   Assist in developing and implementing health education and wellness programs across the mine;

•   Maintain an atmosphere of mutual trust, recognition and respect for patient;
•   Perform clerical duties including documenting platform activities, typing reports, managing files and records;
•   Drive to the scene and provide basic life support to the victims before they are transported to the hospital;

•   Maintain employee medical records, in a confidential manner;
•   Provide weekly activity reports to the supervisor Manager as required.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Certified Paramedic + BLS + ACLS;
•   Have the ability to work in construction/ mining areas, where climbing will be required;
•   Successful completion of a Paramedic Training Program of the required number of hours and passed the certification examination;
•   Minimum of three (3) years of Emergency Response experience at the Advanced Paramedic level.
•   ACLS and BCLS certifications are required and must be maintained;
•   First Aid Trained and Certified;
•   Must have CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification;
•   Rescue qualifications and experience would be added value;
•   Must have a clean criminal background;
•   Must possess good communication and computer skills;
•   Must possess safety inspection and related skills;
•   Proficiency in Microsoft office and other related computer applications;
•   Well developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people of diverse cultures;

Position: PLANT OPERATOR

Key Responsibilities:

•   Operate at least two of the major process equipment listed below.

1. Regrind mill
2. Floatation
3. Reagent
4. Elution
5. CIL
6. Mill
7. Belt
8. Crusher
9. Control room
10. Gold room

•   Executes daily routine work according to Policies and procedures within prescribed guidelines.
•   Execute planned work in conjunction with supervisor;
•   Ensure good house-­?keeping and safety practice;
•   Ensure all circuits are free of hazards by cleaning material spills;
•   Report any unsafe situation or hazards that are likely to obstruct production;
•   Report all security and unsafe acts to the Supervisor;
•   Maintain a safe and friendly working environment in compliance with ISO14001 as well as OHSAS 18001 and ICMC requirements.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of Senior High School or Junior High School Certificate;
•   Certificate in Metallurgy will be an added advantage;
•   At least two (2) years working experience in a gold processing plant;
•   Ability to operate the Mills and Crushers and run the desorption circuit;
•   Ability to write minimal report;
•   Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Ability to work for long hours to obtain required results;
•   Must be reliable and a team player;
•   Medical fitness for the position and environment.
