Job Summary

The new Career & Entrepreneurship Manager will be sorely and exclusively responsible for the donor Career & Entrepreneurship Center topics and tasks

He/ she will be doing business and career consulting as well as entrepreneurship classes in personal dialogue with beneficiaries and in group sessions

Furthermore, the Career & Entrepreneurship Manager shall be generating business ideas   for beneficiaries and will be building a network of contacts of possible employers

He/ She also will be responsible for requesting funds from the Career and Entrepreneurship Center bank Account by a detailed budget for each beneficiary that requires approval from the donor

In addition to that, he shall report to the donor on a monthly basis, summarizing achievement and development

Furthermore, he/ she will generate a data base, keeping records of beneficiaries’ careers and development. These profiles will be representing the Career & Entrepreneurship and will be used for marketing purposes

Moreover he/ she shall stay in contact with all beneficiaries, also former ones, organizing meetings and get-togethers

Position Summary

The MEDA Specilist for the Trade Hub Network Project will work with the Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and other members of the THN project and will be responsible for following the project’s M&E plan and systems and preparing data for USAID portfolio review. He/She will also oversee special duties studies and be responsible for project and study reports and provide direct assistance to build clients capabilities in M&E and act as a trainer of other technical assistance providers as needed.

Duties And Responsibilities

Under the supervision to the Senior M&E Specialist, the MEDA is responsible for:

•   Following up the Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP) document for the project staff and local experts.
•   Conducting rapid surveys and other data collection to establish baseline information
•   Establishing regular data collection plan for indicators in the PMP.
•   Designing and implementing M&E systems that will generate timely information and feedback to project counterparts at all levels, and to the client.
•   Assisting the project technical leadership teams to design appropriate M&E process instruments for planning programme activities.
•   Continually monitoring the availability of data, (inputs and data sources), the flow of data and the uses of that data in the Project’s area of responsibility
•   Assisting in annaul work plan development
•   Any other duties as assigned

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or the Social Sciences
•   5 years minimum experience in monitoring, evaluation and analysis with field experience
•   Experience with USAID funded projects or other international NGO’s / Donor organisations
•   Experience with trade promotion programmes and activities preferred
•   Computer literate with excellent skills in  the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access and must be proficient in STATA.

Key Responsibilities

Qualification Required & Experience

•   At least first Degree in Theology, Christian Education or any relevant social sciences.
•   Post graduate qualification in related discipline preferred.
•   At least 5 years post-qualification experience in a similar position, 2 of which should be in a higher or supervisory role.

The scope of work for this position as stated below, involves providing leadership for the conduct of surveys by USAID/Ghana METSS. This includes work extending from constructing the framework and methodology (sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing) to collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting statistical results comprehensibly to those who will use them. In addition, create statistical databases, tables and figures for formal presentation to USAID/Ghana and its partners.

Specific tasks will include the following:

•   Recommend and subsequently develop the statistical methodology to gather,, analyze, interpret, and report population-based data on household poverty, food security and nutrition status of women and children.
•   Prepare a documented protocol for all stages of the survey from sampling to presentation of reports,
•   Coordinate all processes directed at the collection and analysis of reliable -survey data and provide technical assistance in statistical analysis to the USAID/METSS staff.
•   Arrange data in spreadsheets to perform estimations and analyze and interpret statistics to provide overview of findings.
•   Interpret data for USAID/Ghana’s Economic Growth Office use for program decisions, as well as communicate survey findings for sector-wide distribution and use to guide policy formulation.
•   Identify previous studies for comparison.
•   Identify data quality issues and recommend the best course of action to address them, serving as a technical point-of-contact for ensuring data integrity

Qualification Required & Experience

•   PhD or Masters in biostatistics, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics with at least five years’ working experience in a similar position.
•   Ability to design and implement statistical research studies and conduct statistical analysis of research data, exhibiting adequate proficiency in statistics procedure for sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing, preparation and interpretation of statistical reports.
•   Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
•   Proficiency in analytical and statistical software packages such as SAS, Strata, Matlab, Eviews
•   Knowledge of complex survey analysis, linear, and non-linear optimization techniques, process simulation techniques, and experimental design are a strong plus.
•   Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and relationship management with a focus on working effectively in a team environment.
•   Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
•   Ability to present and convey results of analyses to various audiences
